Sam Jacob is principal of Sam Jacob Studio, whose work spans scales and disciplines from urban design through architecture, design, art and curatorial projects. He is Professor of Architecture at UIC and Visiting Professor at Yale. Previously he was a founding director of FAT Architecture.
Jacob has exhibited at leading galleries and museums including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2016 and 2014 (co-curated the British Pavilion), and the 2017 Chicago Biennial. Through his work, Jacob displays an interest in how architecture manifests social and cultural ideas, and how design precipitates abstract ideas into the world around us.
